Help & Getting Started

Everything you need to get GTX Studio onto your phone and start designing. It's free — there's nothing to buy inside the app.

Install it on your phone

GTX Studio works like a real app once you add it to your home screen — full screen, no address bar, one tap to open.

iPhone & iPad

  1. 1Open studio.gtxfacepaint.com in Safari. This will not work in Chrome or inside the Facebook browser.
  2. 2Tap the Share button at the bottom (or top) of the screen.
  3. 3Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. 4Tap Add. The GTX icon appears on your home screen.

Opened this from a Facebook link? Tap the three dots in the corner and choose "Open in Safari" first — otherwise the Add to Home Screen option won't be there.

Android

  1. 1Open studio.gtxfacepaint.com in Chrome.
  2. 2Tap the three-dot menu in the top right.
  3. 3Tap Install app or Add to Home screen.
  4. 4Confirm with Install.

On a computer? Look for the small install icon at the right end of the address bar.

The basics

Design a splitcake

Head to the Studio, pick your stripes from the real GTX colour line, then test the blend with the virtual sponge and brush. Shuffle or refine to explore variations.

Save to My Kit

Save a cake and it lands in your kit, where you can rename, tag and organise it. Tap the S badge on any saved cake to reopen it in the Studio as an editable draft.

Download & share

Every cake can be downloaded as a high-resolution image with your artist name on it — perfect for posting your work or printing a reference card.

Community

Make a recipe public and it appears in the Community for other painters to browse, like and recreate. Your designs stay private unless you choose otherwise.

Common questions

Does it cost anything?
No. GTX Studio is completely free, with no subscription and no locked features.
Do I need an account to try it?
You can play in the Studio right away. An account is only needed to save your cakes, build a kit and share to the community.
Why do the colours look different from my real paints?
Screens vary and the blends are simulated. Use it to plan combinations, then confirm with a real swatch.
Where can I buy GTX paint?
Check the distributor list to find a stockist near you.
Something's broken or missing.
Use the feedback button in the corner of the app — it goes straight to us — or email hello@gtxfacepaint.com.
